Abundant Landscapes with Kelly Norris

A Way to Garden (hosted by Margaret Roach) is casual 30ish minute conversations with gardening experts. This episode features Kelly Norris, who also wrote the book 'New Naturalism' that I've really grown to love as a gardening resource. He is someone who makes us think beyond 'how to grow plants' and into 'how do plants grow?' He gives great insight into gardening in layers using the Naturalistic Planting Design approach.

Ducks Unlimited Canada has been busy restoring wetlands across Ontario. If you aren't familiar with the work they've been doing lately in creating wetlands check it out below and spread the word to get more wetlands restored.

August open-house at AVESI Head Quarters

I have applied for the Rain Ready rebate through The City of Hamilton and Green Venture. Green Venture has been such a big part of the AVESI journey it's fitting that I use my property to showcase what is possible with rainscaping and open it up to those who want an inside look.

The backyard we did in 2023 and it's now time to transform our rather bleak-looking front yard with a new rain garden, native plants, dry creek beds, and some of those flagstone bridges I've been incorporating into our designs lately.
