Site Analysis for Effective Rainscaping

Reader

On November 16th at The Rock on Locke (St. John the Evangelist Church), I will be giving a presentation titled Site Analysis for Effective Rainscaping: Observations, Obligations, and Opportunities as part of Green Venture's Fall Workshop Series.

This series is meant to empower homeowners looking to take advantage of the grant opportunities offered by the City of Hamilton for landscape enhancements that manage rainwater on site.

This is a topic that can't be overemphasized. I'm going to outline how I approach a site for the first time, focusing on the key information I need to start the design process.

Our goal during this presentation will be to help you understand the unique way water is moving through your site. We'll cover effective methods for observing your site during planning, our collective obligation to keep our homes and neighbourhoods safe from water damage, and the opportunity to create an ecologically resilient landscape that manages rainwater in artful and creative ways.

NOTE: This presentation will be delivered again as part of the AVESI 2027 Winter Webinar Series along with The Upcycled Landscape and one or two other presentations.

The Deep End Podcast

I'll be joining Eric Triplett on his show for contractors, builders, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and leaders who want to sharpen their mindset, elevate their performance, and build remarkable lives.

Eric is a Pond Creator in California that I've been following for years!

The Garden Shift Podcast

I'll be joining Tina for an episode about Rainscaping in the upcoming season 4 of The Garden Shift. This podcast features informal conversations about ecological gardening and becoming a guardian of your garden.

Podcasts like this one are proof of the cultural momentum around ecological gardening and habitat creation.

Hearing about someone else’s experience is the first thing people look for when making big decisions. Your review could help a neighbour feel confident about choosing rainscaping for their property. Please consider taking 60 seconds to leave AVESI a review. We truly appreciate your support!
